Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy as a complementary therapy uses essential oils to treat emotional disorders such as stress, anxiety and a wide range of other ailments. Aromatherapy also promotes physical, mental and emotional well-being. Essential oils are massaged in diluted form, inhaled, used in baths or applied to the body. The word ‘aromatherapy’ literally means therapy by means of aroma or scent, without specifying the source of the scent. An aromatherapy practitioner only uses essential oils, and no other forms of scent.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage combines the benefits of massage therapy with the use of essential oils. It primarily uses slow, gentle, rhythmic movements which are also known as 'effleurage'. This massage technique helps to relax and to loosen tight muscles, to unblock tissues and to soothe the nervous system. It is suitable for people of all ages, from babies to older people, men and women. Aromatherapy massage is not a substitute for medical care, but it can help in many ways to relax the body and to relieve a variety of physical and psychological symptoms. Regular aromatherapy treatment can help to alleviate the effects of stress and to promote a general feeling of well-being.
